In their 10th year as alpaca breeders Kelly and Paul Zanella of Spa Alpacas have developed a nationally known, award-winning huacaya breeding program on their 17-acre farm located in Upstate New York. The success of the farm is largely due to the Zanellas’ focus on breeding alpacas with correct conformations, exceptional fleece traits and superior genetics coupled with their unparalleled customer support and educational programs.

The thought process behind any livestock investment is that the animals should exhibit high quality and carry traits that are highly desirable within the industry as a whole.  Spa Alpaca’s has achieved this level of quality in their breeding program.  For both 2004 and 2005 Spa Alpacas was awarded the prestigious “Huacaya Small Breeder of the Year Award” and “Reserve Huacaya Small Breeder of the Year” in 2007. The Zanella’s motto of “Sharing Our Success” stems from the fact that Kelly and Paul offer their best award-winning production alpacas for sale and award winning herdsires at stud for your breeding program.  In this respect their customers are starting an alpaca breeding program with animals or bloodlines that have already been recognized and awarded on the merits of their quality fleece and excellent conformation.  In addition to offering their very best for sale the Zanellas also share their knowledge, experience and animal management expertise to help new or seasoned breeders move forward on their own alpaca adventure.
