At Kentucky Criations our philosophy is simple, "breed every animal to consistently produce the best dark colored Alpacas in the United States. We breed for Alpaca and Fiber excellence!"

Everyone talks about breeding quality Alpacas and most say they are breeding for the best Alpacas, but what are they doing to reach their goals? Have they defined the goals they are trying to reach? 

One of our main goals is to consistently produce Dark Colored Alpacas that will shear over 10 lbs of fleece (prime & seconds) and maintain a spinning fineness micron count under 20 at 4-5 years of age! These animals must be conformationally sound and produce long staple lengths with tremendous luster and character in the fleece. In order to achieve such high levels, we must have a dedicated breeding program focused on constant genetic improvement and the knowledge and discipline to attain our goals.
