BLACK AND SUPERFINE.  This is a tough one to let go of.  Ace of Spades  has a most exquisite fleece, exhibiting a well-defined, high frequency crimp that extends from skin to fiber tip.  In addition, her fleece is extremely fine, soft and dense. This is exactly the type of fleece that we are striving to breed for in our black breeding program.  Ace of Spades was on our showstring in 2005.

Her dam, Dulcinea is a Danko daughter that was on our showring in 2002-03.  She is the full sister to Antonella who was on our showstring in 2006. Ace of Spades’ granddam Riesling has an elite fleece.  At 3+ years of age, her histogram was 14.6afd/3.6sd/24.7cv/0.3%>30.  She has produced many outstanding offspring including Patagonia’s Solstice, a brown full-Chilean female, who was the FEMALE SUPREME CHAMPION at the 2006 International Alpaca Odyssey and La Mina who is on our showstring this year.  Ace of Spade’s sire Kaspa, is  a 6-time grey champion and is one of Patagonia’s restricted herdsires.
 
Ace of Spades is bred to Patagonia’s Neruda.  Neruda has been very important in improving the fineness of our colored fleeces and  recently sold for $205,000.  He has always been considered one of our top 3 herdsires and as a result his breedings have always been restricted.
